Give

Why We Give

Giving is the believer’s obedient and joyful response to God, His grace, and our recognition that we are stewards (not ultimate owners) of our possessions. Christians are not bound by the Old Testament concept of the “tithe”. We do not believe nor teach that there is a particular percentage that Christians should give. 2 Corinthians 8-9 offers the New Testament’s clearest instruction on giving:

Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9:6-7)

We do not have a time in our service where we ask for offerings. There is no “passing the plate.” Rather you can give in boxes at the back of our worship center, online, or by mail.

A special note about electronic giving to Grace Bible Church

Grace Bible Church accepts digital payments to make giving easier. Be aware, in order to accept digital payments the church pays a fee on all money received. Thus, with digital giving, a portion of your gift will go to the payment processing company. If you give with cash or check the church receives 100% of the money given.

If you do give digitally, it is best to use ACH; this cost us the least to process. Contact the church office directly via phone or email to learn to do this. Credit card & debit processing is most expensive, so please only use credit card if you have no other means to give or if you recognize that a significant portion (2%-3%) of your gift will be taken as a fee for processing prior to the church receiving it.

Also, please do not use a credit card to give money unless you have the ability to pay it off immediately upon receiving the bill. It is not appropriate to go into debt in order to give. We have a Christian & Debt sermon series that may help you understand the proper way for the Christian to relate to debt.

If you have any questions about giving or would like help thinking through faithful stewardship of your finances please reach out to your smallgroup leader or an elder.

An important note regarding gift designations

Donors are able to indicate a designation indicating a preference for how contributed funds will be allocated (i.e. general fund, missions, building fund, benevolence, etc). However, Grace Bible Church (GBC) has exclusive control and discretion as to the use of all contributions and GBC is not bound to honor the recommendations of the donors nor will donors be able to recover a contribution because GBC failed to honor the donor’s designation. If you have any questions about this please speak with an elder.

Giving To Missions

Grace Bible Church supports our missionaries from the general fund; however, the majority of their financial support comes from individual regular contributions. Please visit each missionary’s blog to support them.

To give to Papua New Guinea missions, you can make a check payable to Finisterre Vision. Indicate on the check and/or envelope “Cann,” “Lehman,” “Mitchell,” “Brink,” or “GBC Team PNG” and drop in offering box or mail to:
