Why Christians Sing

Jacob Hantla March 25, 2026

On Sunday, Kris Drent came to the Student Ministries and taught on why Christians sing. Singing is something that we do nearly every time the church gathers—nearly every time that student ministries gathers. So it is important that we understand why we do it and what we are doing when we sing. Krist did a great job with this.

From passages such as Psalm 96, Psalm 103, and Colossians 3, Kris taught that when the church sings, it works in several important directions at once: upward in worship to God because He is worthy, outward as a testimony to unbelievers, inward by shaping our own hearts with truth, and toward one another by teaching and encouraging fellow believers.

You can find the sermon video and a transcript at the Student Ministries webpage: https://www.gbcaz.org/student-ministry/why-we-sing/

Upcoming Meeting
We will meet again this Sunday 3/29 at 6pm, and Kris will teach a followup to this message.

It is such an important message. I strongly encourage you to review what your students learned and even listen/watch it yourself.

Your servant for His glory,
