Due to impacts from the storm, our Sunday Worship Service will be at 10:15 a.m. at The Avion Event Center at 1733 E Northrop Blvd Chandler, AZ 85286. Childcare will be provided for ages 0-3. There will be no Equipping Hour. Evening Service and Student Ministries will meet at 6pm at the Avion Center.

Dear parents of Student Ministries, 
 
Last night, we wrapped up the final session of our three-part True Worship series led by Kris Drent, focusing on ‘Corporate Singing How-To.’ For those who were unable to attend due to the Labor Day holiday, I highly encourage you to have your student listen or watch the recording (or better yet, listen as a family).

Each week we prepare a discussion guide for the after-message discussion groups. This discussion guide is designed to be easily applicable for message followup in the home as well. This way you can hear what your student is learning. Most importantly, you can explore how the content is, or should be, impacting them as well. Here are last night’s discussion questions.

 
What was taught
  1. Why is it helpful to us to listen to theologically rich worship music during our week?
  2. Why isn’t corporate singing just for people who like to sing?
  3. What is the problem with not wanting to have or show emotion when singing corporately?
  4. What is wrong with singing so that we can have an emotional feeling or experience?
  5. Which of these were most surprising to you?
  6. What questions do you have about the things we learned tonight?
 
How must this affect me?
  1. Which of these come naturally to you? 
  2. Which ones do you think you need to grow in?
  3. What can you do this week to prepare to make the most of your opportunity to participate in corporate worship next week?
