Preparing to Hear Psalm 51 Together

Dear Parents,

Student Ministries resumes this Sunday, January 11, from 6:00–7:30 PM.

For our first gathering of the new year, rather than our typical lesson, we will join together as a church family to hear Smedly preach from Psalm 51. This Psalm powerfully captures David’s confession and repentance after Nathan confronted him regarding his sin with Bathsheba and his orchestration of her husband Uriah’s death. It is an essential passage for every believer to deeply understand, and I'm eager for both students and parents alike to benefit from Smedly’s preaching.

After the sermon, from 7:00–7:30, students will break into their discussion groups. We encourage parents to stay during this time for fellowship and connection with other families.

In that message, Smedly provided the crucial background from 2 Samuel 11–12, laying the groundwork for Psalm 51. Watching or listening to the sermon as a family would be excellent preparation for this Sunday.

In subsequent weeks, we will return to our regular Student Ministries format, continuing our study through "Fundamentals of the Faith."
