Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.

This Psalm ends on a personal note—David’s desire to honor God. The words “Rock”, meaning immovable (God is unalterable) and “Redeemer”, meaning, “to rescue as kinsman” (or literally, “to save a family member”) are extremely personal words. David understood that God was intimate and unmovable, and he sought His acceptance. For us, God’s unalterable act of redemption is not impersonal but is a gift from Abba Father. Knowing we are His kinsmen because of His redemption is a beautiful reminder of the unchanging love God has for His children. Let’s worship our risen Savior this Sunday in song and, like David, may our speech and thoughts be in accordance with His precepts.

By grace alone,

Christ Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed
It Is Well With My Soul
How Great Thou Art
Here Am I
