Psalm 103:8-12
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

The psalmist, in Psalm 103, expounds upon the vastness and greatness of the Lord’s compassion and grace towards those who fear Him. This passage is rich with truths like, “He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.” These two simple statements alone would warrant immense gratitude toward God. He has stayed his wrath for us even though we fully deserved it. Instead, he grants us grace and mercy; He loves us and has purified us. This is all made possible by Jesus alone, our savior and king. He paid it all.
