Luke 2:10-11
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Imagine the joy that the shepherds in Luke 2 experienced when “the glory of the Lord shone around them” and they heard the words spoken by the angel. There is no greater news and no greater joy than the gospel story that took flesh in Bethlehem that day. Jesus, the Son of God, came to this earth as a baby so that He could one day become the sacrifice for sins and the savior of His people. We rejoice in the birth of Jesus because without that event, we would still be dead in our sins. The Creator had to become the creature. Jesus had to enter earth to reverse Adam’s fall. It was infinite condescension for our infinite benefit. Praise Jesus.
