Music for December 2
Music Devotion by Matt York
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
In this chapter’s opening, Christ’s Deity is showcased (verses 1-5) and as the divine narrative unfolds, perfect humility is displayed as the second person of the Trinity becomes flesh and dwells amongst His people. Through this incarnation, God’s perfect plan is unveiled for the redemption of the underserving. A benefactor of this historical fact can only be filled with eternal gratitude yet imagine what it must have been like for John when he wrote these words for the first time “…and we saw His glory…” Not only does John benefit from such love, he saw it in the flesh–as will we someday! Such amazing love demands our adoration. Let us reflect this week on Christ’s condescension on our behalf as we prepare our hearts to proclaim, “Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing, O come let us adore Him”.
