Happy Mother’s Day
After the service, everyone is welcome to join us for cake to celebrate Mother’s Day.
If you are newer to the church, Discovery Lunch is a great place to enjoy some food, learn more about what the church believes as well as interact with an elder, if you have more specific questions. The next lunch will be hosted at GBC on Sunday, June 2 from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Future Discovery lunches will take place approximately on a monthly basis. Please register online at www.gbcaz.org/events. If you have any questions, please contact the church office (email@example.com).
Summer Friday Nights are back! Join us Friday, June 14, from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the home of Bethany Kruge. The Master’s University Scholarship Fund
The Master’s University (a private Christian university in California) has established a unique relationship with Grace Bible Church, recognizing an opportunity to help theologically like-minded students attend TMU. The elders of GBC would like you to consider helping students from Grace Bible Church attend undergraduate programs at The Master’s University. You can give to this need by indicating your desire on your financial gift to GBC by including the note “TMU Founder’s Fund”. You can also recommend donations for a specific student. You can find out more by contacting Smedly Yates (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Mom’s Group meets every Tuesday from 10:00am-12:00pm at nearby valley parks and splash pads. Moms with kids of all ages are welcome. This is also a great opportunity for older moms to pour wisdom and encouragement into newer moms! For more details, contact Katy Lee (602) 715-6785, (email@example.com) or Amanda Makawi (480) 229-2597, (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Book of the Month
Agape Leadership: Lessons in Spiritual Leadership from the Life of R. C. Chapman ($7) is the May book of the month. This small book is taken from a larger biography on R. C. Chapman. In it, you will hear echoes of the principles that our church has come to prize in the BUILD and Wellspring disciplines. See the booktable servants for more details and the accompanying reading guide which includes a suggested one-month reading plan.
Restoration and Church Discipline (Matthew 18:15-17)
Jesus directs the church to patiently and gently pursue its sinning believers that they may be won back from their sin. In cases where the professing Christian refuses to repent of sin, Jesus directs the church to remove the unrepentant one from the church family and fellowship. GBC practices church discipline as prescribed by its bylaws in accordance with Matthew 18:15-17. Regular attendance at GBC is considered affirmation of this biblical practice. If you have any questions regarding church discipline please listen to our sermon titled “The Heart of Christ for our Holiness” located on our website (www.gbcaz.org/sermon/111013-sermon/). The elders are also available to answer any questions.
