March 10, 2019 Announcements
Mom’s Group meets every Tuesday from 10:00am-12:00pm at nearby valley parks and splash pads. Moms with kids of all ages are welcome. Membership Service – No Grillout
Sunday, March 31 is our Membership Sunday. We will be celebrating our members with cake after the service. Students will attend their NGM classes as normal.
Are You Considering Adoption?
If you have been considering, praying about, or desiring adoption, there is a unique opportunity that our church leaders have been made aware of. If you would like more information, please contact Omri Miles (email@example.com).
Helping Hands is our ministry that provides meals when those in our body are in a time of need. The purpose of this ministry is to practically and physically live out the “one anothers” of the Bible: caring for one another and bearing one another’s burdens. Whenever there is a need, an email goes out to all who are on the list, and an online signup is made available. If you would like to be added to this ministry, please contact the ministry (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Would you like to pray with others for the body of GBC and their specific needs? A prayer group meets before church from 9:15am–9:45am in the prayer room on the northwest side of the church. This is a time to share prayer requests, pray for each other, and for the worship service. Please note your interest on a comment card and place in the offering box. For more details, contact the church office (email@example.com).
Book of the Month
March’s Book of the Month is Suffering: Gospel Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense by Paul David Tripp ($15). It is an intensely practical and helpful book offering true help to the suffering Christian. See our booktable servants for a helpful reading guide as well as book recommendations.
Restoration and Church Discipline (Matthew 18:15-17)
Jesus directs the church to patiently and gently pursue its sinning believers that they may be won back from their sin. In cases where the professing Christian refuses to repent of sin, Jesus directs the church to remove the unrepentant one from the church family and fellowship. GBC practices church discipline as prescribed by its bylaws in accordance with Matthew 18:15-17. Regular attendance at GBC is considered affirmation of this biblical practice. If you have any questions regarding church discipline please listen to our sermon titled “The Heart of Christ for our Holiness” located on our website (www.gbcaz.org/sermon/111013-sermon/). The elders are also available to answer any questions.
