Biblical Counseling Training Class
Grace Bible Church’s biblical counseling ministry is preparing for the next offering of biblical counseling training classes. GBC’s counseling ministry is called Biblical Counseling of the East Valley (bcev.org) and it is a certified training center for The Association of Biblical Counselors (https://biblicalcounseling.com). The next class will begin on August 24, 2019. This class fulfills ACBC’s 30-hours of classroom training. If you have questions about the classes or the counseling ministry please contact Tom Angstead (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Helping Hands is our ministry that provides meals when those in our body are in a time of need. The purpose of this ministry is to practically and physically live out the “one anothers” of the Bible: caring for one another and bearing one another’s burdens. Whenever there is a need, an email goes out to all who are on the list, and an online signup is made available. If you would like to be added to this ministry, please contact the ministry (email@example.com).
Book of the Month
Agape Leadership: Lessons in Spiritual Leadership from the Life of R. C. Chapman ($7) is the book of the month. This small book is taken from a larger biography on R. C. Chapman. In it, you will hear echoes of the principles that our church has come to prize in the BUILD and Wellspring disciplines. See the booktable servants for more details and the accompanying reading guide which includes a suggested one-month reading plan.
Restoration and Church Discipline (Matthew 18:15-17)
Jesus directs the church to patiently and gently pursue its sinning believers that they may be won back from their sin. In cases where the professing Christian refuses to repent of sin, Jesus directs the church to remove the unrepentant one from the church family and fellowship. GBC practices church discipline as prescribed by its bylaws in accordance with Matthew 18:15-17. Regular attendance at GBC is considered affirmation of this biblical practice. If you have any questions regarding church discipline please listen to our sermon titled “The Heart of Christ for our Holiness” located on our website (www.gbcaz.org/sermon/111013-sermon/). The elders are also available to answer any questions.
