Open Elder Meeting
There will be an open elder meeting Sunday, January 27, after the service at 12:00pm, in Room 10. Please join the elders and deacons as we give thanks to God for His provision for 2018. We will also present the 2019 budget. Please come if you have questions or would like to know more.
ACSTO & TOPS
If you pay Arizona state income tax, you have the opportunity to direct those tax dollars to the tuition needs of children who attend either Christian schools or special needs schools. The number of children in GBC who attend such schools is growing and many are in need of tuition help. If you’d like to participate as either a giver or receiver, please contact the church office (email@example.com).
Helping Hands is our ministry that provides meals when those in our body are in a time of need. The purpose of this ministry is to practically and physically live out the “one anothers” of the Bible: caring for one another and bearing one another’s burdens. Whenever there is a need, an email goes out to all who are on the list, and an online signup is made available. If you would like to be added to this ministry, please contact the ministry (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Would you like to pray with others for the body of GBC and their specific needs? A prayer group meets before church from 9:15am–9:45am in the prayer room on the northwest side of the church. This is a time to share prayer requests, pray for each other, and for the worship service. Please note your interest on a comment card and place in the offering box. For more details, contact the church office (email@example.com).
Book of the Month
This month, the booktable is recommending various devotional resources to accompany daily Bible reading plans. These will aid adults and/or children who are striving to read the Bible in a year. Please see the booktable servants for more information.
Restoration and Church Discipline (Matthew 18:15-17)
Jesus directs the church to patiently and gently pursue its sinning believers that they may be won back from their sin. In cases where the professing Christian refuses to repent of sin, Jesus directs the church to remove the unrepentant one from the church family and fellowship. GBC practices church discipline as prescribed by its bylaws in accordance with Matthew 18:15-17. Regular attendance at GBC is considered affirmation of this biblical practice. If you have any questions regarding church discipline please listen to our sermon titled “The Heart of Christ for our Holiness” located on our website (www.gbcaz.org/sermon/111013-sermon/). The elders are also available to answer any questions.
