GBC Monday Update: 7-06-20
Beloved saints of Grace Bible Church,
First, thank you so much for your overwhelmingly joyful response to the elders’ difficult decision last week. It is not our desire to discontinue gathering in person on Sundays, but for the sake of eagerly submitting to our governor’s executive order, this is what we thought was best. Your humble response has been a great encouragement to us and God’s gracious answer to our prayers. As Paul said of the Colossians, “the love which you have for all the saints” has increased our thankfulness to God (Col. 1:3-4). So, thank you!
Here is what you need to know about the upcoming week.
Online Only Sunday Service Order:
10:15am – 11:45am
NGM (Children’s Ministry message)
Sermon (Psalm 15)
Book of the Month:
Our book of the month for July is Letters on Christian Education ($7). The book includes nine short letters written by an anonymous Christian woman to her friend on parenting. These letters were originally published in the mid-1800s. As the publisher writes, “You will find in them sound biblical counsel and practical personal advice concerning the training and education of children — from infants just entering the world to teens about to leave the home and face the world on their own.” You can purchase a copy at the booktable’s online store and we will deliver it to your home address.
The past few posts are intended to help us think biblically about the current cultural upheaval:
- “Three Pseudo-Sources of Wisdom on Race-Related Issues”
- “No Wisdom, No Justice”
- “Resources for Thinking Biblically about #BlackLivesMatter”
Shepherding this body of believers is truly an undeserved privilege!
If you have any questions or shepherding needs that arise, please reach out to the elders (email@example.com).
Your servant for His sake,
Omri Miles, Elder Intern
