BUILD & Wellspring
BUILD (for men) and Wellspring (for women) are ministries designed for believers in Jesus Christ who have made GBC their home church. Focusing on gospel-transformed lives and seeking to grow in Christian faith, we will learn together how to have greater influence for the gospel, starting in our homes. We will interact with God’s Word through teaching, discussion, and homework. These ministries will meet every other week. BUILD will take place on Saturdays, and will begin on September 15. Wellspring will be offered on Saturdays (coinciding with BUILD dates), and will also be available on Thursdays. Thursday Wellspring includes a children’s program (ages 0-6), and begins on September 13. If you plan to participate with us, please register as soon as possible so that we will be able to staff appropriately; space is limited. Please see the InfoTable for a flyer with additional information, including exact meeting dates. Registration closes Sunday, September 2. Register online at www.gbcaz.org/events.
Helping Hands is our ministry that provides meals when those in our body are in a time of need. The purpose of this ministry is to practically and physically live out the “one anothers” of the Bible: caring for one another and bearing one another’s burdens. Whenever there is a need, an email goes out to all who are on the list, and an online signup is made available. If you would like to be added to this ministry, please contact the ministry (email@example.com).
Restoration and Church Discipline (Matthew 18:15-17)
Jesus directs the church to patiently and gently pursue its sinning believers that they may be won back from their sin. In cases where the professing Christian refuses to repent of sin, Jesus directs the church to remove the unrepentant one from the church family and fellowship. GBC practices church discipline as prescribed by its bylaws in accordance with Matthew 18:15-17. Regular attendance at GBC is considered affirmation of this biblical practice. If you have any questions regarding church discipline please listen to our sermon titled “The Heart of Christ for our Holiness” located on our website (www.gbcaz.org/2013/11/111013-sermon/). The elders are also available to answer any questions.
Book of the Month
In August, the Booktable is featuring Hide the Word by Mark Altrogge. It is music designed to help you memorize the Bible. Each track is nothing but the Biblical text repeated 3 times to music, taking advantage of our natural ability to remember song lyrics. This is a great way to memorize the Bible as a family or individually. Some in our body have memorized hundreds of verses this way. We were able to secure special pricing direct from Mark Altrogge, just $6 per CD.
