Remembering Matt Dodd through his sermons and communion messages. Watch and Listen

Classes

We desire to equip the body to know God through His Word and to live out our gospel vision and purpose. Sunday service and smallgroups are the most first and most important ways we do that. Classes are an important part as well, allowing us to offer more focused and targeted instruction. The first class that you should take is BUILD (men) and Wellspring (women).

Men’s Ministry / BUILD

The first “men’s class” which is designed for all men at GBC is BUILD, Becoming United In Leadership Disciplines. Here we set forth the most important aspect of training, that before you are equipped to lead in the church, you must be a man who cares well for (i.e. shepherd’s) his own heart and home to God through His Word.

Much of Grace Bible Church’s identity is established in our men’s and women’s foundation classes. These are designed to be taken at least once by all men and women at GBC. They teach the disciplines that must be central to the Christian’s life starting with:

  • Discipline 1 – shepherding one’s own heart to God through His Word.
  • Discipline 2 – shepherding the home
  • Discipline 3 – minister well to others

More important than involvement in ministry in God’s church is holiness of living and care for the home. To learn more about the BUILD and other men’s ministries visit the page.

Women’s Ministry / Wellspring

Wellspring is a training ministry in which we interact with God’s Word through teaching, discussion, and homework; it is the women-centered counterpart to the men-focused BUILD.  This training specifically focuses on cultivating hearts and household relationships oriented toward God and His Word so that women are equipped to step into the GBC family to care for others with the Word of God.

Any woman who is a believer in Jesus Christ who has made GBC her church home is invited to participate.  Those who have taken Wellspring in the past are encouraged to participate again as a way to spur other women on in their walk with the Lord as well as to continue to grow personally.

Visit the women’s page to find out more of the women-focused ministries at GBC.

Equipping Hour

Equipping Hour is a set of modular classes, each 6-weeks long, designed to equip believers at Grace Bible Church to grow in their knowledge of God and His Word, to serve others at Grace Bible Church, and to go out into the world as ambassadors of the Gospel. Classes offered are in the general categories of Bible exposition, hermeneutics, biblical counseling, church history, theology, financial stewardship, parenting, marriage, and evangelism. Look for opportunities to sign up and participate in the future. No Equipping Hour Classes will be offered for the 2016-2017 school-year. Equipping Hour will start up again in September of 2017.

If you would like to volunteer to help with Equipping Hour Kids (a ministry to our children during Equipping Hour), please email John Dube.

Membership

We encourage regular attenders of GBC to pursue formal membership as soon as they are able. Membership is an important way to demonstrate commitment to the church, affirmation of our doctrine, and submission to the leadership. The best way to discover if membership is for you is to sign up for the membership class which is held periodically as there is a need. Contact us to let us know you’re interested in taking the next course.

Baptism

A baptism class is offered a few times a year for those that desire to be baptized. Please contact Smedly Yates or info@gbcaz.org for more information.

Pre-Marital

Engaged or planning to be engaged? GBC periodically offers a pre-marital class for couples considering marriage. Contact Denny Pagel or info@gbcaz.org with the subject line “Pre-Marital Class” for more information.
